3CP5699A - Received "failed dial tone test" message



While installing my 3CP5699A, the Modem Installation Assistant displayed a "My Modem has failed its dial tone test" message.

As part of the installation process, the Modem Installation Assistant will automatically perform a self-diagnostic test, verifying proper installation of the modem.

Possible Solution:
You may have a bad phone connection to your modem, or your phone cord may be plugged into the wrong jack. The phone cord should be plugged into the jack on the modem and into the wall phone jack. Use the phone cord included in your modem's box if possible.
