My Xbox or other gaming console cannot get an IP address from my USR2249 22 Mbps Wireless Access Point or the network behind the USR2249 22 Mbps Wireless Access Point

If your Xbox or other gaming console cannot obtain an IP address from your USR2249 or the network behind the USR2249 (refer to the Note at the bottom of this page), you may need to perform a power cycle. To perform a power cycle, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect one end of the included Ethernet cable to the port on the back of the USR5430. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on your Xbox or other gaming console.
  2. Turn your Xbox or other gaming console on.
  3. Plug the AC power adapter into the 12VDC jack on the back of the USR5430. Plug the other end into an electrical outlet.
Note: If your USR2249 22 Mbps Wireless Access Point has encryption enabled, the devices attached to the USR5430 will not be able to get an IP address from the USR2249 22 Mbps Wireless Access Point or the network behind the USR2249 22 Mbps Wireless Access Point.
