  2. Double-click the file in Windows Explorer. The file self-extracts the following files to the temporary location in which you saved it:

  3. Insert a blank, formatted disk in your computer's Disk drive.
  4. Double-click the install.bat file in Windows Explorer. This creates an installation disk on the disk in your computer's Disk drive. When this process is complete, remove the disk from your computer's Disk drive. Warning: Do not run the setup.exe file. Be sure to run the install.bat file instead.
  5. In Control Panel, remove all USRobotics modems and reboot your computer. Windows redetects your modem and starts the New Hardware Installation wizard to install it. Direct the wizard to use the disk in your computer's Disk drive, and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Note: If you are running Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51, or OS/2 Warp, you do not need to install these drivers. These Operating Systems have built-in PCMCIA support.

Prepare a 3.5" floppy disk by formatting it. Place the diskette into your computer's diskette drive and type the following command: INSTALL -d a: 2. Label the disk 3Com Megahertz XJ4288/CC4288 Installation Disk. This will recreate the Installation disk on the floppy diskette. You may then run SETUP.EXE from that diskette to install the 3Com Megahertz PC Card Data/Fax Modem drivers.
