Conflict minerals policy

The electronics industry, including USRobotics, uses tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold in the production of various products. These metals are extracted from the minerals casserite, columbite-tantalite, wolframite and gold ore, some of which may be mined or traded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries ("DRC").

These minerals and their derivatives are referred to as "conflict minerals". USRobotics expects its suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chains to assure that these metals are not being sourced from the mines in the DRC or adjoining countries.

USR supports the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition ("EICC") and the Global e-sustainability Initiative ("GeSI") Conflict-Free Smelter Program, which seeks to verify smelters and refiners that do not use conflict minerals that support armed groups in the production of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold.

USR has surveyed its key suppliers of components concerning the origin of these metals. Based on our commitment to operating in a socially and environmentally responsible and ethical manner, where our suppliers will not support USR’s efforts or do not assist us in complying with our legal requirements related to the use of conflict minerals, USR will consider using other suppliers.
